Emmanuel is a Special Counsel at GRT Lawyers practising in corporate law with a focus on mergers and acquisitions and equity capital markets. Emmanuel has experience across a variety of industries, with a focus on the resources and energy sectors. Emmanuel has most recently spent almost 9 years as in-house counsel for BG Group and Shell, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, structuring, joint venture implementation and management, and commodity and infrastructure deals. Emmanuel most recently advised on the $32 billion structuring, commodity sale and infrastructure transaction to monetise Arrow Energy’s Surat Basin gas reserves through the QCLNG Project. Emmanuel has also led the various strategic commercial structuring and sell-down transactions for the QCLNG project over the last 5 years.
Prior to working in-house, Emmanuel was a solicitor in the Mergers and Acquisitions group at Mallesons Stephen Jaques (now King & Wood Mallesons) working on complex commercial and corporate legal work, with a particular focus on public and private mergers and acquisitions, and projects and infrastructure.
Emmanuel holds a Bachelor Degree of Law (LLB) and a Bachelor Degree of Commerce.
He currently serves on the board of Act for Kids, which provides free services to children and families with the aim of ensuring the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect, through 30 centres around Australia.
